Dee Caffari will bring her yacht Aviva up the River Thames to thank supporters

British yachtswoman Dee Caffari, the first woman to sail solo non stop both ways around the world, is bringing her 60 foot racing yacht Aviva up the River Thames in recognition of the support shown by the general public during her world record voyages.

On Monday 16 February, Dee made history by becoming the first woman to sail solo, non stop, both ways around the world (the first solo circumnavigation was completed in May 2006). The former PE teacher from Hertfordshire completed her double first by crossing the finish line of the Vendée Globe after 99 days at sea.

When:
Monday 2 March – Aviva will depart Greenwich at 14:00 and dock alongside HMS President at 17:30

Tower Bridge will open to allow Aviva to pass under at 15:30 and 16:30
