A new annual race - the Tour de Belle-Ile - opens to amateurs and professionals alike 17/3/08

The Tour de Belle-Ile is a brand new race open to sailors of all levels. It takes place on Saturday 10 May off the coast of Brittany, France. The sole criteria? A boat measuring 6.5m or more.

The race distance will be approximately 45NM and will take competitors around the island of Belle-Ile, starting and finishing at La Trinité-sur-Mer. Like theRound the Island Racein England, or theBarcolanain Italy, the Tour de Belle-Ile hopes to bring together over a thousand boats from family cruisers to racing multihulls for what is hoped will be a great day’s sailing.
