WightCable has been signed up as the official telecommunications supplier for this year’s Skandia Life Cowes Week.

WightCable is the only digital TV, Telephone and Broadband Services Company on the Isle of Wight and provides high quality television pictures, crystal clear phone calls, and high-speed Internet access to Island residents and businesses.

Stuart Quarrie, Cowes Combined Club and Cowes Week Director commented: “We are delighted that WightCable will be providing us with our telecommunications needs for the 2002 regatta. With their ability to provide a mixture of Broadband, ISDN and ordinary voice communications, the service to the Event, and in particular to the international media, will be greatly enhanced. Working with a high-tech local firm and being part of their re-launch is very exciting.”

Stephen Geary – WightCable Sales & Marketing Director – added: “We are building one of the most advanced networks in the world. Using fibre optic cables, our network will provide services across the Isle of Wight. With our digital network we can supply all three services; TV, Telephone and Broadband (fast internet) down the one line. Already some 2,500 residential and business customers enjoy the benefits of our services and a further 14,000 customers will be on line by 2003.
