Don't miss tomorrow's showing of the ARC on CNN

The Atlantic Rally for Cruisers will be shown on CNN Inside Sailing on Wednesday 18 December at 1830 and Saturday 21 December at 1930 CET (GMT 1).

Don’t miss the full story from Gran Canaria which includes interviews with some of the sailors just before the rally started.

Inside Sailing also looks at the safety aspects of the rally, a topic highlighted by the recent death of a competitor for the first time in the event’s 17 years.

Other features on the December programme include an interview with one of the world’s top America’s Cup sailors – Paul Cayard – who is currently part of the Oracle BMW Racing Team for the Louis Vuitton Cup.

Emma Richards will also star on the show with her video diary as she battles hurricane force winds in the second leg of the single-handed Around Alone Race. The 27-year-old British skipper, who is the only woman taking part in the solo round the world race, has performed impressively so far on board her 18 metre (60ft) yacht Pindar.

And finally CNN looks at how GBR Challenge, the first British entry for 15 years, is coping with an early exit from the Louis Vuitton Cup and what their plans are for next time.

The monthly half-hour programme presented by CNN in association with UBS Financial Services Group is transmitted in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America on the third Sunday of every month and is repeated on Wednesday and Saturday.

In addition to the monthly programmes, there are a number of weekly ‘Sailing News Extra’ vignettes bringing CNN viewers the latest sailing news. The TV programme is complemented by a dedicated website section at www.cnn.com/insidesailing for worldwide weekly sailing updates.
