A mixed fleet of experienced and junior Signet sailors turned out for an open meeting at Paxton Lakes SC on July 3-4.

On Saturday in difficult light conditions, home boat ST872 sailed by John Pratt and Christine Eade led the way, followed by ST 368 Richard Cannon and Ben Mitchell (Aquarius SC) and recently restored ST2 sailed by John and Maggie Pryor (Paxton Lakes SC). Junior sailors ST41 Tom Field and Douglas Conway and ST914 Michael Overs and Mark Cowling finished in joint ninth position.

On Sunday in slightly more wind, racing proved more exciting with competition for the lead between ST368 Richard Cannon and Ben Mitchell, ST 907 Joyce and Frank Cowern, and ST872 Roy Melsom and John Pratt. Further back, home boats ST53 Steve and Jonathon Leeding and ST690 Pat and Lizzy Overs tussled for fourth and fifth place.

The fleet was grateful to Paxton Lakes SC junior members Ben Mitchell, James and Douglas Conway for crewing at short notice for visiting members.
