Race leader, Team SEB, has hit light airs on her northerly route in the Southern Ocean. illbruck has overtaken Assa Abloy and, together with djuice and News Corp, are enjoying a better breeze on their more southerly route.

After the wet and wild last days all the crews are longing for the Australian summer to get out of the clothes they have been wearing now for ten days and to air their skins in the warm sun. However, it will take them another day or two until temperatures will significantly change. The 1300 miles to Eclipse Island are blocked by a high-pressure system with low wind speeds. Over the next few days this system is expected to move north creating yet more testing times for navigators.
