Current world, European and last year’s national champions John Pink and Tom Weeks continued their surperb run of victories by winning the 2001 Gul 29er championship which finished yesterday (16 August) at Plymouth.

The last day of racing gave the competitors sunshine and a 20 knot breeze making for fantastic sailing and racing conditions. The Danish team of Helle and Lars Orun Neilson showed the depth of international competition by finishing the series second.

In the silver fleet Tom Stuart and Tom Evans sailed very well to keep off the competition from Will Crocker and Phil Bacon.
