It looks like it’s really going to happen – a boatshow returning to Earls Court.

Having heard the initial rumours about a new boatshow running ‘alongside’ the Stewart Collins London Boat Show at Excel next winter, we tracked down James Brooke, the co-founder of the Earls Court Boat show who confirmed: “It’s definitely going to happen.”

According to Brooke, who runs his own training centre – advanced yachting.com – the idea of the new boatshow was launched just two days ago and so far there is a lot of interest the Earls Court Boat Show that is scheduled to run from 1-9 December 2007. Commenting on this interesting new announcement Brooke said: “I can confirm that we have booked Halls 1 and 2 of Earls Court and we expect to fill both and run a phenomenal show. It will be a great Christmas spectacle.”

Brooke was unable to comment on the rest of Earls Court Boatshow team but he did confirm further news would be announced at a press conference at Earls Court on 29 January.

When asked who will be underwriting this new venture Brooke said that in order for them to confirm their booking at Earls Court they had to sure they had substantial financial backing in place, Brooke added: “yes we are expecting to have heavy costs over the first few years but if we can get it going this show will be good for exhibitors and visitors plus we hope to provide special entertainment for children.”
