Chips Howarth has won the Musto Performance Skiff Europeans at Fraglia Della Vella Malcesine, Lake Garda

The final places went right down to the wire at the recently concluded Musto Performance Skiff European Championship at Lake Garda.

Chips Howath was consistently at the top of the fleet and, bar a broken tiller extension in race six, managed to secure first place overall from Richard Stenhouse.

Piero Sibello from Italy led into the final day but after a few swims in the brisk conditions, dropped to fourth overall.

Heavy air specialist Kevin Anderson put a good series in to pull up to third, while Piero Sibello and Colin Goodman also just did enough to keep Roger Oswald at bay.
