In a report on the CNN.com website, New Zealander Grant Dalton, skipper of Amer Sports One, has announced that this is the last time he will compete in the Volvo Ocean Race. However he was keen to point out he would like to do another non-stop round the world race because he enjoys it.

Dalton’s 20-year involvement with the race includes two wins and two second place finishes. He is currently lying in second place overall after four legs of the VOR behind illbruck. After stepping ashore after the the finish at Kiel in June, Dalton will be preparing for one of his next major events, The Race in 2004, a no-rules non-stop sprint around the world which he won with his catamaran Club Med last year.
