Quadriplegic Holt sailed from Nairn to Whitehall on the latest leg of his voyage round Britain 26/07/07

Quadriplegic sailor Geoff Holt sailed from Nairn to Whitehills today on the latest leg of his voyage around Great Britain.

Geoff, who is paralysed from the breast line down as the result of a swimming accident, is attempting to be the first disabled person to sail around Britain. His progress has been greatly affected by the bad weather and he has spent a total of 29 days weatherbound in various ports.

Having stayed at Nairn last night, Geoff left early this morning to sail to Buckie, but managed to get further along the coast to the harbour at Whitehills, where the team will stay tonight. The sun was shining when Geoff left Nairn, but soon changed to heavy rain. The forecast for tomorrow does not look promising either. Geoff’s next port of call is Boddam – a harbour close to Peterhead.
