Mark Heeley's GBR25 lines up a gun

After a disappointing opening day to his world championship campaign, Mark Heeley and the well-drilled crew of GBR25 have capitalised on Iain Percy’s tactical calls to lead the third race of the Rolex Farr 40 World Championships off Cowes today.

At the fourth mark of six, the chasing pack was being led by Russell Coutts and the distinguished crew of Alinghi, just ahead of Philip Tolhurst’s Warlord VII and Jim Richardson’s Barking Mad.

Close behind them, Oscar Strugstad’s Dawn Raid, with GBR Challengers Ian Walker, Simon Fry and James Stagg onboard, was fifth at the time. Hopefully they can make up some of the championship ground they lost after yesterday’s uncharacteristic results.
