BBC South Today and the RYA have teamed up to offer a prize of a week's racing with Ben Ainslie during this year's Cowes Week

If you’re aged between 16 and 19 and want to find out what it’s like to race with an Olympic champion, here’s your chance. BBC South Today and the Royal Yachting Association have teamed up to offer a prize of a week’s sailing with Ben Ainslie during Skandia Life Cowes Week aboard the Swan 70 Volvo for Life.

The lucky winner will live in the crew house in Cowes for the duration of the regatta (3-10 August) with all food, transportation, accommodation and sailing clothing provided. The winner will also receive a year’s complimentary personal membership of the Royal Yachting Association.

To ensure Ben and the winner obtains maximum publicity, the BBC will follow the team’s progress with television features throughout the week. To enter, log on to www.bbc.co.uk or the RYA website www.rya.org.uk and complete the entry form explaining in no more than 100 words why you think you should be chosen. A panel of expert judges, including Ben, RYA Racing Manager John Derbyshire, Volvo Sailing and the BBC South team will select the winner.

The closing date for entries is 12 noon, Friday, 5 July, 2002 and the winner will be notified by 12 July 2002.
