At total of 60 boats will be on the startline of the Veteran Boat Rally in Porto Cervo, Sardinia today

A record entry of more than 60 beautiful yachts, representing ten different countries will be on the startline of the first day’s racing at the Prada Veteran Boat Rally in Porto Cervo, Sardinia today.

Entries include Croce del Sud, the three-masted yacht owned by the Granelli Mentasti family, Nyala a 12 metre owned by Patrizio Bertelli, Tirrenia II, and the 54.35m Shenandoah of Sark.

This event is open to all sailing yachts built in wood and or metal, launched prior to 1950 (Vintage Yachts); on the discretion of the organizing committee, also sailing yachts built after 1950 launched prior to 1976, and replicas of classic and vintage yachts, conforming with CIM and ITMA regulations.

Racing will be divided in to Vintage Yacht, Classic Yacht and Spirit of Tradition and will conclude on Sunday 3 September with the final parade off Porto Cervo Marina, and prizegiving.
