Racing was cancelled on the second day of the 49er world championship due to excessive wind conditions in Athens, Greece yesterday.

A start was attempted in 15kts of breeze, which had to be abandoned due to a large wind shift. Shortly after that, the wind increased to 30kts and racing was forced to be abandoned for the day.

In order to make up the lost races, tomorrow will see the competitors racing at the earlier time of 1000am.

The event is due to conclude on the 19 April.
