Finn Gold Cup - Video highlights for epic conditions for the final day’s fleet racing

Talk of the town here in Falmouth on the penultimate night of the Finn Gold Cup was of two things – 1)
the punchy 20-30 knot conditions with huge breaking rollers that characterised
the last day of fleet racing and 2) of Ainslie’s dominant performance in which
his worst two results have been a pair of thirds in a string of firsts.

But even maestro Ainslie
was impressed with the conditions.

“I’d say those were three of the most amazing races I’ve raced,” he said just minutes after pulling his boat up the slipway. “It was a pretty big day, amazing conditions. There were massive waves. It was an amazing day’s sailing for everyone I think. It is not often we race in conditions like that so it was great, I think there will be a lot of tired sailors but I think most people had a smile on their face most of the time.”

His team mate Ed Wright pushed Ainslie hard all day described the conditions as, “the craziest days sailing I’ve had for a long time.”
