ARC 2007 is well and truly open for business with more than 200 yachts already arrived at the marina in Gran Canaria. The pontoons are bustling with activity as supplies and provisions are loaded aboard , and a busy programme of shoreside seminars are preparing the crews for the 2700 mile crossing. From what to do in case of generator breakdown, to routeing and weather, sessions are presented by experts in their field.

But the ARC is not all work, and just as popular are the opportunities to socialise with fellow sailors. Crew dinners for each yacht class are held in the Restaurant Embarcadero, overlooking the Marina, and as well as sponsored happy hours there are special events for short-handed skippers and families sailing with children.
