A competitive fleet of seven Vintage National 12s raced for the J & T Hancock Trophy on September 4 at Derwent Reservoir SC.

A handicap system developed many years ago by the host club was used, in which the timed finishes of the first scratch race were used to set the starting times for the two subsequent pursuit races.

The first race in a Force 3-4 was won by N2266, sailed by Howard and Sarah Chadwick, followed by N2487 (Paul Turner and Kay Ash) and N1673 (Brian Herring and Ros Stevenson).

The second race, with a lighter breeze, was won by Towan and Jennifer Hancock of the home club, with a photo finish for second place, just won by N2300 (Ken Goddard and Alex Milburn).

The final race, in a Force 1-3, was won by Goddard and Milburn, with the Hancocks second.
