Thirty-five RS800s turned out at last weekend's open meeting at Weston SC 19/7/07

A total of 35 RS800s made the trip to Weston SC for the 8th round of the Fat Face Circuit on 14-15 July.

Neil Baker and James Hughes won race 1 convincingly on the water. However, they fell foul to a ruling in the Sailing Instructions so were recorded as DNF. This gave the victory to Charlie Roome and Steve Hall, with Justin Deal and Rosie Geyman 2nd.

Race 2 and Deal/Geyman and Roome/Hall reversed places to take 1st and 2nd, Spod Olive and Guy Fillmore took 3rd to keep them in the hunt.

The wind picked up for race 3, Olive/Fillmore this time took the gun, followed by Ian Martin and Adam Broughton and Graham Simmonds and Chris Doe revelling in the stronger breezes.

Sunday saw a difficult choppy sea and fluctuating breezes and saw Mick Whitmore and Sarah Smith pick up a victory, chased hard by Mark Lees (in his first 800 event) and Orwin Murray. 3rd were Rob Struckett and George Yeoman.

Race 5 was lead for a long period by Jane Olive and Dan Brown, before they were finally overhauled by Deal/Geyman, giving them the event with a race to spare.

A torrential downpour and thunder preceded a light start to the final race. Lees and Murray were chased hard by Ben Schooling and Tim Hirst. These two ended up finishing in that order in a shortened one lap race, followed by Roome/Hall taking 3rd.

Overall Deal and Geyman were victorious, ahead of Olive/Fillmore and Roome/Hall.
