Oman Sail's 105-foot Arabian 100 took to the water for the first time this week

The Arabian 100 trimaran – part of Oman Sail – touched water for the very first time in Salalah Port, Oman this week. Under construction since 2008, Arabian 100 (or A100) was built by Boat Speed in Australia, before the components were shipped to Oman for assembly in the southern most port of Salalah. A team of up to 30 international and Omani boat builders and specialists have worked on her and the result is a maxi racing craft sure to make headlines.

The A100 joins the Oman Sail fleet as a training boat to help further the development of the Oman Sail academy and inspire the Omani youth to further their potential.

Designed by Nigel Irons, it will be skippered by Paul Standbridge and will now undergo sea- trials before its first voyage up the Omani coast.
