Over 70 boats are expected to participate in next month's Rolex IMS World Championship

The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) will co-host the Rolex IMS World Championship with Yacht Club Capri from 15-22 May. Over 70 boats from 10 countries are expected on the start line making for some top class racing.

The event is organised under the auspices of the Offshore Racing Council (ORC), with the support of Italian Sailing Federation (FIV) and under the patronage of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF). The ISAF Sailor’s Classification Code will be applied at the IMS Worlds for the very first time in Italy, dividing the participating craft into two categories: purely amateur ‘corinthian’ crews and those with more than one professional member aboard.

The titles of World Champion will be awarded to the winners of both categories.
