After last year’s fog-bound and windless annual pursuit race at Queen Mary Sailing Club, this year’s entrants are in for a shock. The weather is set to be around 10 knots of freshly chilled northerly breeze.

The race which kicks off at midday on the first Saturday of January every year, is expected to attract 300 boats. It is the variety and breadth of entrants that makes this such a great event, classes vary from Mirrors and Toppers to the high performance Olympic 49er class encompassing just about everything on the way including Thames A-Raters and the mini 4.7 keelboats.

If you fancy an early season blast, there is still time to enter just hitch up and head for Queen Mary Sailing Club. For more details contact the race office on 01784 248 881.
