The 29er, 49er and 59er fleets enjoyed perfect conditions for their inland championship last weekend

Grafham Water SC provided not only an excellent weekend’s racing but laid on the perfect wind as well for the 29er, 49er and 59er inland championships. A total of eight races were held for all the fleets on two separate race tracks.

In the 29er fleet it was current national champions Tristen Jaques and Alain Sign who, after a shaky first day, pulled back on Sunday to take the title. Ed Chapman and Tom Peel had an impressive first day but were unable to hold of Jaques and Sign in the slightly lighter winds of Sunday.

The 49er fleet was dominated by James MacIntosh and Phil Kennard who won five out of the eight races. There were a few staring moments from a number of other teams such as Ben McGrane and Jonny Clegg.

Andy and Karen Partington almost made a clean sweep winning all but one of the 59er races. Rob Dulson and Christine Iredale gave them a run for their money each race but could only beat them once.
