The picture is of the Colin Archer Viking and was recently stolen

It’s not a very good picture of a painting but it’s the only one the owner, Geoffrey Nockolds, still has. The original was recently stolen in a burglary at his house and he’d very much like it back.

The boat in question is the Colin Archer-design Viking, built in 1925 by Rosendal in Norway. She was owned by Geoffrey’s wife’s family from the 1930s and took part in several early Fastnet Races, reputedly with the young John Illingworth on foredeck.

If you see this picture anywhere Geoffrey would love to hear from you.
