How you can help Nick Moloney's Vendée quest to raise money for cancer sufferers

As he’s been striving through headwinds this weekend to try to stay in the right quadrant of a deep depression, and find the best route past the Cape of Good Hope, Nick Moloney’s other mission has fallen badly behind. Moloney is using his Vendée Globe campaign to raise money for Sail 4 Cancer, a charity that is aims to get cancer sufferers out on the water and he’s trying to raise a pound for every kilometre sailed. Unfortunately, Nick is currently 3,590km ahead of the funds raised.

You can help keep up with Nick, whose commitment to Sail 4 Cancer took a on very personal dimension this summer when he discovered his father had terminal cancer, by making a secure donation online at www.sail4cancer.org. The objectives of the charity are varied, and they include taking a group of cancer sufferers and their families out to the Med and teaching them to sail this summer. Other goals are outlined on the website.

You can learn more about Nick’s race, and see some terrific recent videos of high speed sailing on his Open 60 Skandia on his website, www.nickmoloney.com
