The Veya 53 is set to make its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival
Veya Yachts, the premium power-catamaran brand created by Fountaine Pajot and Couach Catamarans, created considerable interest in the industry when it was announced early last year. It brings together the space and stability of a multihull with the presence, comfort and attention to detail associated with premium motor yachts. That vision becomes reality with the world premiere of the Veya 53 at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
This model represents a new expression of the power catamaran, with emphasis on space, stability and time spent together on the boat. The design aims to balance comfort, lifestyle and the ability to cruise further afield, within expansive and thoughtfully curated contemporary living spaces.
The Veya 53 is the outcome of a strategic collaboration between two respected and established boat builders, each with long-standing expertise in their respective spheres.

Fountaine Pajot has four decades of multihull expertise, while Couach Catamarans’ yacht building heritage stretches back more than a century. The partnership draws on both companies’ traditions of skilled craftsmanship and build quality. Veya Yachts are built at the existing Couach shipyard in Gujan-Mestras, on the Bay of Arcachon, south-west of Bordeaux.
With any new project the knowledge and vision needed to create an innovative design that maximises space, comfort, ergonomics and style is just as important as the build quality. Alongside the in-house expertise of both founding companies, Veya Yachts worked with La Rochelle-based naval architects Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design, bringing an additional layer of technical precision to the project.
At Cannes visitors will be able to appreciate at first hand the space, privacy and easy circulation this yacht offers, along with its generous proportions, easy circulation and abundance of natural light.

A considerable amount of thought has clearly gone into providing a choice of distinct areas for owners and their guests to gather, or retreat, throughout the day. The expansive foredeck lounge, panoramic flybridge and spacious aft cockpit all offer a variety of outdoor spaces for socialising or relaxing.
Access to the water is from a wide hydraulically controlled aft bathing platform. This area also gives access to a generous 687 gallon (2,610 litre) aft garage in which a wide range of watersports equipment such as paddleboards, wingfoil kit and dive gear can be stowed ready for use.
Inside, a choice of three- or four-cabin layouts includes an impressive owners suite with panoramic sea views and a high degree of privacy. Meanwhile, the connected galley and saloon are conceived around the needs of couples and families looking for a yacht suited to extended cruising and comfortable living, while making it easy to spend extended periods on on board.

The rapidly growing popularity of power catamarans is driven by several factors. The space, volume and privacy they offer are well understood, but other advantages – including comfortable motion and high stability, both underway and at anchor – are less widely appreciated. There’s no big hump in the resistance curve to climb over when transitioning from displacement to higher speeds, giving considerably more flexibility in cruising speeds.
Historically, many significant innovations have resulted from combining the expertise of leading operators in different fields. This collaboration between Fountaine-Pajot and Couach Catamarans is an interesting example, bringing together multihull knowledge and motor yacht expertise in the project that closely reflects the ‘Room for Adventure’ brand signature.
