Brits seal a 4th medal with one race to go, just the colour to be decided

The Meltemi was in today and didn’t get bounced out by the sea breeze, but life was still tricky afloat as the 14-18kts breeze was both patchy and shifty as it spilled off the land.

49er – Currently 3rd overall

Chris Draper and Simon Hiscocks – A bronze in the bag but can they trade up to a silver or gold? A very difficult day with big holes in the breeze. Started well with a convincing win then a 9th and a 6th. Bronze is assured, silver possible and gold achievable if they finish first on the last race and the Spanish finish 12th. If there’s one class where this could happen it’s the 49ers, so it’s not over yet.

Star – 7th overall

Iain Percy & Steve Mitchell – A good race today after a difficult start and a 3rd brings them up to 9th overall. Interesting to note that just 3 points separate the top 6 places with 5 races to go. Hero to zero, either are easily possible at this stage.

Tornado – 14th Overall

Leigh McMillan & Mark Buckeley – No sailing today

Men’s Windsurfer – 4th overall

Nick Dempsey – No sailing today

Women’s Windsurfer – 11th overall

Natasha Sturges – No sailing today

Yngling – Shirley Robertson, Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb – Gold

470 Men – Nick Rogers and Joe Glanfield – Silver

470 Women – Christina Bassadone and Katherine Hopson – 7th overall

Europe – Laura Baldwin – 23rd overall
