Clover, who set sail from Tenerife on 19 December on his Contessa 32 Reflection, in company with his father Ian on Xixia, another Contessa 32, completed the 2,700 mile crossing yesterday and should arrive in Antigua later today.

Ian Clover, Seb’s father beat his son across the line but as Seb commented in a report in the Daily Telegraph this morning, ” I don’t really care about coming second, I’m the one who gets the world record.”
