A clue that the post of chief executive of the Volvo Ocean Race has been filled, and the word is...

The resignation of Andy Hindley from his job as race director of the Volvo Ocean Race to go to P1 Powerboat Racing is a clue that he failed to get the top job of chief executive, recently vacated by Glenn Bourke. I believe Andy was the only internal candidate.

It’s also a clear sign that the post has now been filled. The word is that former Innovations Kvaerner and Djuice Dragons skipper Knut Frostad has got the job, though that is yet to be announced.

I wonder what that means for the future of the VOR HQ at Whiteley, in Hampshire? The UK connection is basically historic, and with such a strong Nordic influence in the race now, and a Norwegian at the helm, perhaps it will eventually relocate?
