The Rock in a 30ft tri? I'm not sure...

Pete Goss and what he calls “the demolition brothers”, Paul Larsen and Andy Hindley, stormed out of the Solent today in Pete’s Seacart 30 trimaran. As this photo by Paul Todd shows, they were flying the main hull at times, fully booted and suited in dry suits and lifejackets.

About 10 minutes after this shot was taken they reached the standing waves and overfalls pushed up by wind against tide conditions at Hurst Narrows and the view to windward towards Anvil Point and beyond will probably have seemed quite long in this pocket rocket.

The Fastnet upwind in this boat? No thanks. But then Pete’s one of the greatest seamen of our times….and he lives down Plymouth way. It’s just a guess but maybe he’s sailing home.
