According to the Irish Times , Green Dragon – Ireland’s (and China’s) entry in the Volvo Ocean Race – is up for sale. Priced at ?2.5 million, half the ?5 million build price, it will be available immediately after the race ends in mid-June.

Built in China by McConaghy’s, to an American design, Green Dragon is the central part of next month’s Volvo Stopover in Galway. According to the team’s chief executive, Jamie Boag, the decision to put Green Dragon up for sale before the race ends is “aimed at generating sale interest while the boat is still competing”.

As well as being up for sale through US brokers Thoroughbred Yacht Sales, its sale is being handled by Peter Morton in Britain, who describe its location as “en route to Russia”.
