Skipper Bekking and navigator Fisher talk to Matthew Sheahan as they hit the dock in India

Matthew Sheahan reports from the dockside in India as Telefoninca Blue arrives to take second place in a leg that saw the teams battling to keep their boats in one piece in the first half and struggling to keep them moving in the second.

Among the list of broken gear across the fleet, Telefonica Blue’s broken daggerboard left the boat stranded, limping towards the finish. With no spare and little chance of being able to adapt the remaining board, the leg prognosis looked poor. Until, that is, the team hooked up with some tasty clouds and their own private breeze that saw them leapfrog the front runners in the fleet to pull off an impressive second by the finish.

Hear skipper Bouwe Bekking and navigator Simon Fisher (Sci-Fi) describe the ups and downs of a roller coaster leg.
