Robert Deaves takes a look at the gear used at the OK Worlds in Denmark

The following is a list of gear used by the top 10 overall at the recent OK World Championship at Skaelskor in Denmark.

For the first time in many years, the gear used by the top sailors varied widely, with no particular hull, sail or mast dominating on the water or in numbers. This reflects the considerable development that has gone into OK rigs over the past two years since the introduction of carbon fibre masts in 2003.

The most important factors seems to be stiff hulls combined with properly matched rigs, and even home built hulls are equally as competitive as the popular makes. However, as always within the OK class, it is more often the sailor rather than the equipment that makes the difference.
