Lord Colin Moynihan believes British sailors will win plenty of medals at the London 2012 Olympics

Lord Colin Moynihan, Chairman of the British Olympic Association, believes the Olympic sailing venue is worthy of a gold medal and has backed Britain’s sailors to deliver the same at London 2012.

Moynihan was visiting the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy during the 2011 Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta, and was delighted at what he saw.

He had plenty to smile about from the Brits on the water, with at least one boat qualifying in all ten medal races for the Olympic classes, as well as picking up a gold and a silver across three Paralympic competitions.

With the

countdown to London 2012 ticking down, Moynihan is not only confident that the venue will hold up but also Britain’s athletes, predicting a good medal haul in 13 months time.
