Watch the video accompaniment to the Advanced Sailing Techniques series with professional skipper Pip Hare

Here’s a chance to catch up with our 12-part series on Advanced Sailing Techniques, in
association with Pantaenius.

This series of videos with top round the world sailor Brian Thompson and professional solo sailor and coach Pip Hare guides you through how to deal with a Chinese gybe, how to avoid broaching and a whole range of manoeuvres such as gybing an asymmetric spinnaker, shorthanded gybing and poling out a genoa downwind, plus tips on helming upwind and in light airs.

The videos were designed to run alongside monthly features in the magazine, giving step-by-step explanations, details and many more hints and tips. The series ran throughout 2012, but to relive the whole experience we have launchd a great iPhone and iPad app which incorporates both the video and the articles, plus interactive features. That makes it easy to download the manoevures and refer to them easily when you’re back on board.

You can get the first two chapters of the app FREE and download the rest of the series for the bargain price of £1.49 here
