Angle grinders to the rescue

More on cutting away your rig after a dismasting.

In favour of angle grinders is Othmar Karschulin, who writes; 'I use on board a Bosch Cordless angle grinder with 14.4v accumulator. With this tool, it is no problem to cut several wires or rods up to 15mm diameter without any power (electrical or human).'

You can see one here

And from Simon Fishwick: 'You may not know, but both Ryobi and Makita make battery powered (18v) angle grinders. I don't know how effective they are at cutting rod rigging.'
