Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson take GBR medal count to six on the last race of the Olympics - Matthew Sheahan reports

Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson have won gold in the Star class on the last day of the sailing Olympics in one of the most dramatic and nerve wracking races that any British supporters have witnessed.

In taking Britain’s sailing medal count to 6, (four golds a silver and a bronze), Percy and Simpson’s result contributes to an outstanding British performance, the nation’s best in exactly 100 years, even matching the medal colours won at the London Olympics in 1908.

An incredible way to end the Beijing Olympics.

More on the race, and the pairs comments coming shortly????.
