A summary of how the Brits got on today and how they lie overall

Starting off light and building to a decent sea breeze, most courses had a variety of conditions in which Team GBR proved the diversity of its sailors

Finn – Currently 1st overall

Ben Ainslie – A 2nd and 3rd today moved Ben 8 points ahead in the overall results with the Spanish sailor his closest competition. A much happier looking Ben.

Yngling – Currently 1st overall

Shirley Robertson and her crew – a 4th and a 6th, the latter being their discard. With each day that passes the girls seem to thrive on their new found confidence. Just three races left and they’re 7 points ahead of the Danish team

470 Men – Currently 1st overall

Nick Rogers and Jo Glanfield increased their overall lead to 4 points over the slick and confident looking Americans by scoring a 2nd and 3rd but there’s no room for mistakes in the last three races as they’ve already got a 17th as their discard.

470 Women – Currently 9th overall

Christina Bassadone and Katherine Hopson had a tough day today, a 17th, (now their discard) and a DSQ drops them two places to 9th overall.

49er – Currently 2nd overall

Chris Draper and Simon Hiscocks – A very tricky day on the water with light and shifty conditions before the sea breeze kicked in. Scored a 5th, 6th and 3rd to put them 2nd overall.

Laser – Currently 6th overall

Paul Goodison An 11th and then a 7th brings Paul up the overall rankings to 6th.

Europe – Currently 22nd overall

Laura Baldwin – a 20th and 22nd knocks her back to 22nd overall.

Men’s Windsurfer – 6th overall

Nick Dempsey – At last some more racing in this fleet. Nick scored an 2nd then an 11th to put him 6th overall

Women’s Windsurfer 9th overall

Natasha Sturges scored a 9th today and has moved up one place overall
