A summary of how the Brits got on today and how they lie overall

Snakes and ladders for many of the Brits as the wind comes up, drops away, shifts around and bails out. A difficult and stressful day on the water with a mixture of good and bad.

Finn – Currently 1st overall

Ben Ainslie – Day off – Waiting to hear the outcome of an appeal regarding the disqualification on the first day. Jury have been analysing video footage

Yngling – Currently 1st overall

Shirley Robertson and her crew – Day off

470 Men – Currently 1st overall

A painful 18th which counts as their discard followed by a 5th, but they’re still in the lead.

470 Women – Currently 5th overall

A 5th and a 6th today brings the girls up the overall rankings

49er – Currently 9th overall Just one race today and a frustrating one for Chris Draper and Simon Hiscocks. Pipped at the post as they sailed into a hole just 200m from the finish they saw their 2nd turn into a 9th.

Laser – Currently 9th overall

Paul Goodison had a horrorshow first race today finishing 28th in the but pulling himself back to 5th in the second race.

Laura Baldwin was midfield at 10th in the first race but getting tangled with the pin end mark at the start of the second race haled her back in 23rd for the second race.

Another intensely frustrating day as Nick Dempsey leads the fleet around the course only to have the race abandoned as the breeze dies. Still only one race in the overall stakes.

Women’s Windsurfer 10th overall

Natasha Sturges pumped her way around the course to finish an impressive 3rd in a fleet that was well spread out by the end of the race
