A summary of how the Brits got on today and how they lie overall

 Tricky day starting off light and then building to a more challenging 20 knots later in the afternoon.

470 Men – Currently 1st overall

Nick Rogers & Jo Glanfield – Had a tricky start to the first race rounding the first weather mark 22 but pulled back to 9th at the end. Second race worked hard n strong breeze to score 4th.

Yngling – Currently 1st overall

Shirley Robertson and her crew – Enjoyed the more boisterous conditions today scoring a double whammy, a 1st in both races.

Finn – Currently 8th overall

Ben Ainslie – Out to prove a point and put yesterday’s desperate start behind him Ainslie won the first race (after two previous races had been abandoned) and went on to win the second as well in a tight race.

470 Women – Currently 9th overall

Christina Bassadone & Katherine Hopson – A bitter sweet day with a 15th in the first race but a well managed 4th in conditions that saw many others struggle.

Laser – Currently 7th overall

Paul Goodison – First day of the Olympics clawed his way back from a bad start to 13th in the first race then drove the message home with a 3rd in the second race.

Europe – Currently 19th overall

Laura Baldwin – First day out scored a 21st in the first race and 15th in the second.

Men’s Windsurfer – Currently 17th overall

Nick Dempsey – First day out scored a 19th in the first race and a 12th in the second

Women’s Windsurfer – Currently 13th overall

Natasha Sturges – First day out scored a 16th in the first race and a 10th in the second
