Puma Logic rounds the Rock with YW's Jo on board

A year ago Yachting World’s Editorial Assistant Jo Cackett had only sailed a few times. Now she is on board Puma Logic, a Reflex 38 run by Sailing Logic, leading IRC Class 1 in the Rolex Fastnet Race. They rounded the Fastnet Rock at 0630 this morning, Wednesday 10 August. Here’s a report relayed by Allie at Sailing Logic.

‘Wow, what a way to start a Wednesday!! The guys are doing us all very proud! Had a text from Skipper Philippe this morning just before 06.30am to let us all know that they had rounded the rock. This means that the weather must have been pretty light over the last 24 hrs as they were due there some time last night. But, looking at the updates on the RORC website, we find that Puma Logic is not only leading her own class (IRC 1b), but is the leading yacht in IRC 1 class overall, but more importantly is 16th in the race overall ahead of such yachts as Bear of Britain, Skandia Wild Thing and Leopard of London, all huge maxi yachts crewed by professional sailors. What an amazing achievement so far. I am not sure if they know that they are doing as well as they are, but I am sure that they are pushing as hard as they can.’
