With racing over, the real talking is just beginning. Matthew Sheahan reports

Sleep was scarce for teams and spectators as the Cup parties went on long through the night and into the morning following yesterday’s successful defence of the America’s Cup.

Just hours after the cleaners had removed the giant beach setting where palm trees, food stalls, surboards and BBQs had provided the night’s entertainment, the team opened its base once again. This time the affair was an open house for the press to find out what some of Alinghi’s key players thought about their win.

We have also posted an edited version of the live audio commentary for the seventh and final race, an unbelievably close match with just about every element of match racing included in the four leg course.

Tomorrow (Thursday) sees the announcement of the new Protocol, the plan for the 33rd America’s Cup. We will bring news and commentary on what’s in store for the next event following the press conference.
