In the February 2010 issue of Performance World, John Doerr explains the new changes to the racing rules in our monthly feature, The Knowledge.
But unless you're a well-seasoned team racer, Rule 18(c) is particularly tricky to visualise. The following four video clips posted by Sailgroove, US Sailing Rules Committee Member Matt Knowles adds further explanation to the background and the effects of each of the changes.
