Andrew Simpson accepts the Yachtsman of the Year award on behalf of the Olympic Team

Yesterday (13 January) the British Olympic sailing team won the Yachting Journalists’ Association Yachtsman of the Year award.

The award was presented by Lady Pippa Blake, widow of sailing legend Sir Peter Blake, and accepted by Andrew Simpson who thanked the Olympic coach Jim Saltonstall.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to 75- year-old Dag Pike, the oldest person to win the Round-Britain Powerboat Race.
