The Musto International Cruising Awards, run in association with Yachting World, was launched today at the London Boat Show. This writing competition, to recognise cruising achievements, is open to everyone involved in cruising with an aim to encourage sailors to record and share their cruising experiences and inspire others.

All you need to do to enter is submit a log of this year’s cruise in no more than 2,500 words and send it together with a copy of the relevant pages from the ship’s log and covering photos/video and send to Yachting World before the deadline of 31 July 2003. The winner will be awarded an Alan Simpson painting capturing the significant moments of the cruise plus £1,500 worth of Musto foul weather gear.

Speaking at the launch about the competition Andrew Bray, Editor of Yachting World commented: “With 80 per cent cruising readership we’re expecting a good entry. Basically it’s got to be a cracking read and we’re looking forward judging the entries at the Southampton Boat Show 2004.” The panel of judges includes Sir Robin Knox-Johnston and Janet Murphy – Managing Director of Adlard Coles Nautical and the winners will be announced at the London Boat Show 2004.

For entry forms and to find out more about the competition, visit the Musto or Yachting World stand at the London Boat Show or log on to ybw.com or musto.co.uk.
