A record number of spectators walked the pontoons for the first week of Race Village opening

The first week of the Race Village opening drew a record number of spectators. Since 20 October, no less than 230,000 people (including 10,000 school children) have walked the pontoons where the 20 participating boats are moored. The race’s popularity is clearly evident.


The success of this 7th edition is also obvious online. The race’s official website drew 200,000 visitors in a week. Their Facebook page will soon have 20,000 fans while the Twitter account is followed by more than 3,500 people. As for the virtual race, more than 30,000 players have already signed in on virtualregatta.com.

The Race Village is open until 11 November 2012 from 10:00 to 20:00 (free admission).
 On 3 and 9 November there are extended hours until 22:00. On 10 November (race start) the Village will open early at 08:00. Pontoons will be open from 10:00 to 20:00 every day until 8 November.
