Guy Swindells reports on the eve of the Volvo Ocean Race in-port race in Rio
Barely a week has passed since arriving in Rio at the end of leg 5 and its back out on the water for tomorrow’s in-port race.
With half the points still available in the overall race stakes, the in-port racing will be more than simply a showcase for the round the world fleet.
Guy Swindells talks to skippers and crew, many of whom are still not properly back on solids after a diet of freeze dried food, about what lies ahead. Tomorrow the in port race, next week the start of leg 6 to Boston. As bodies start to feel the effects of this around the world marathon, the pace is starting to build.
