Giles Scott defeats the Finn king. Plus, Chay Blyth, Peder Lunde on global racing and Stuart Quarrie on why Cowes Week 2011 will cost you less

When Brits take all three medals in the Finn class at the recent Rolex Olympic classes regatta in Miami, it’s clear that British prospects in this fleet are shaping up well for 2012. But for the second time in six months, Giles Scott has taken the gold and defeated the former king of the Finn Ben Ainslie. Guy Swindells talks to Scott and finds out how he did it.

As an Ambassador for the Volvo Legend’s regatta that takes place later this year, Sir Chay Blyth looks back at his first circumnavigation and compares it to the current state of play, while double Olympic medallist and former round the world sailor Peder Lunde describes some extraordinary training for his campaign in 1981/2.

Closer to home, Stuart Quarrie tells Matt Sheahan about the new headline sponsorship deal for Cowes Week and how Aberdeen Asset Management’s support will benefit sailors for the next three seasons.

As always it’s packed, but so much so that this week you might need to take the long route to the office, or the slower train home.

Perfect for the walk to the station, the trip home on the train, or to take your mind of the rush hour traffic jam that you’ve just joined, this week’s Shoretalk podcast is informed, up to date and as always, easy to tap into.

Shoretalk is produced in association with the Volvo Ocean Race’s Gybe Talking and goes on line every fortnight. To be bang up to date make sure you subscribe, not only is it free, but every edition is automatically sent to your computer.
