A sunny day greeted 10 Scorpions that attended the Corus Colors SC open meeting on 16 June. This set up a bit of a battle between the expected south-south-westerly wind and the sea breeze that was trying to establish itself and resulted in a very light and cyclonic wind for the first race.

Dave Woodhead and Jerry Hannabuss in Scorpion 1947 led the way with a battle between Bob and Mandy Morsley in SC 1812 and Peter Crowther and Dave Thompson in Scorpion 1865 with Peter and Dave eventually taking second place. The rest of the fleet sailed around swapping places with every change of the wind.

Fortunately the sea breeze started to win over and the second race was held in a stronger but still unsteady wind. Dave and Jerry led the way again with Peter and Dave in pursuit followed by Bob and Mandy and Carol and Jon Haines in SC1952 and that was the order in which they finished.

The third race was held in the best wind of the day. Dave and Jerry did their usual and led the way. Peter and Dave had a poor start and had to pick there way through the fleet in the first two laps to take their now usual second place. Carol and Jon made a mistake in the last lap by going to the wrong mark and let in Scorpion 1974 of Carl and Shellie Jones. Bob and Mandy had to be content with fifth place in this race.
