The RYA’s new national headquarters, which is currently being built in Hamble, Hampshire, is well underway. The building is scheduled for completion in spring next year when all services, including the RYA’s independent charity Sailabilty, will be brought under one roof.

RYA Chief Executive Rod Carr spoke enthusiastically about the new development, “We’re making good progress. The new building will provide the staff with a modern, well-equipped office environment that will enable the RYA to serve the needs of its members and the wider boating community effectively for years to come. This move, together with the McKinsey review of our management and governance structures, will enable the association to move forward and carry out its multiple roles more effectively.”

The RYA has already started investing in new communication systems such as the increasingly popular web site www.rya.org.uk and a new telephone system with national ‘local call rate’ dialling on 0845 345 0400.
